Zihuatanejo was beautiful, the beaches are dark sand due to surround volcanos, not as picturistic as white sand beaches, but the fine sand in between my toes feels like paradise found. I stayed a couple of nights then took the overnight bus to Acapulco, a resort town. Arrived at 5am, totally lost outside the bus [...]
Our next destination, Mexico City, is one of the world’s largest metropolitan areas, with a whopping 22 million inhabitants, making it second only to Tokyo. In some ways, a city of such size, couldn’t have been built in a worse location. It’s on a major earthquake fault line, and stuck in a valley, 2,240 metres [...]

Here’s some photos from a road trip Luke and I took. We visited Mexico City DF, Teotihuacan, Taxco, Cuernavaca, and Acapulco.
Dane and I wanted to spend a few relaxing days on a beach, but it turns out all the good ones were a lengthy bus ride from Xalapa. Surprisingly, we were only a few hours from Acapulco. I haven’t had a chance to update because we spent our time on the beach instead of in [...]
NO STORY.
Last night we thought we had managed to score a dorm to ourselves and so have a peaceful quiet sleep. But alas no. A group of 4 Mexican boys, who looked about 12, arrived during the night and proceeded to make loads of noise at 7am. Still we were checking out today so it wasn’t [...]
After the plane left Mexico City we were informed there was only 20 minutes till we arrived in Acapulco. We assumed the Mexicans minutes were longer than the Australian minutes. But no, it was only a 25 minute flight. We felt stupid flying such a short distance. Maybe we should have walked! (no karrina doesn’t [...]
