On the 24th august we arrived at denver. We went on a factory tour at a hammonds candy factory where we got a few free samples. Then we went to the coors brewery for a tour of it and of course some free samples.

The Great Adventure Continues...

The tan lines have faded, the matching black backpacks have been stored away, and the foreign currencies that used to jingle in our pockets have been replaced by various cards — driver’s license, insurance, credit, and one frequent sipper card from the coffee shop down the street. Our six months of readjustment after a year [...]

I’ve always liked tall tales and good stories. Who doesn’t like to be captured be the essence of imagination? I’ve spent years running through woods wrapped up in childhood imagination and make believe stories on adventure quests. An uncle used to tell stories of travel, sometimes uncomfortable and often reckless. My father talks about snorkeling [...]

Finishing Denver: Crossing the Continental Divide

Last night provided a few extra events.  We visited the Avery’s Brewery and briefly attended a special release of a limited beer.  They only made 315 cases of the beer that was brewed in rum barrels.  It was delicious. Probably the finest beer I’ve tasted. After we returned home we played a few games of [...]

Breckenridge, you broke my heart.

I returned from Breck yesterday afternoon. A tough weekend resulted in being worn down, exhausted, and not feeling well half way through my day of teaching. I went home sick- and by “home”, I mean I drove all the way to Denver. As always, by the time I get back to my own bed, I’m [...]

We made it to Denver after a long, full flight on United from Orlando.  I am reminded yet again why I don’t like to fly United.  Hopefully we won’t be delayed long here in Denver. Although the airport is nice, we’re on a tight schedule to see so much over the next 5 days.

Pin only.

Going back to Denver to get Janis

The morning of the 17th, we woke up and headed for the outlet mall in Loveland. I never thought the store I would be most excited about would be the Coleman Camping store! And everything was 50% the outlet prices. I bought a Camelbak bag for $15 and a lamp for $5! I was very [...]
